Job Description

The Senior Facilities Specialist is responsible for overseeing equipment operation and maintenance for Stryker's Plymouth, Minnesota facility. This professional will manage vendors to ensure assigned work is completed as required and will also complete repairs and adjustments themselves as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains facility systems including but not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, office and building management systems.
  • Supports multi-shift action requests as needed and prioritizes actions based on business needs.
  • Maintains internal and external contract support contact/call-in lists.
  • Oversee and inspect the work of outside contractors.
  • Lead and coordinate construction projects such as the development of a new facility; the addition or expansion of an existing facility; or renovations/alterations to a facility in collaboration with the project team, construction site and management.
  • Develop assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.
  • Organizes and directs construction personnel and ensures that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time.
  • Estimate, schedule and oversee projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate EHS program.


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2+ years experience required.
  • This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education or training.
  • The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making.
  • The job requires a basic understanding of work routines and procedures.
  • Safety and compliance experience preferred.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and climb as required to perform daily duties.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Coordination of eye, hand and foot movement with an ability to grasp by hand and meet cognitive demands to include visual and auditory discrimination / memory, reading ability and memory retention ability.

Mental requirements:

  • Exercise discretion and independence when applying professional expertise.
  • Must be able to manage time, projects, stress and conflict.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.
  • Must be able to bring tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize work and keep detailed and confidential records.
