Job Summary:
The Senior Equipment Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring that the facility and production equipment is maintained in consistent, reliable condition to include preventative maintenance, light custodial duties, modifications, repairs, as well as basic trades such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, drywall repair, painting and carpentry work. In addition, job duties include providing manufacturing engineering support to R&D engineers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Facilities
    • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC system and controls, sterilization vessels, electric steam generation system, chilled water systems, reverse osmosis de-ionized water system and distribution loop.
    • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all other manufacturing and facilities related equipment.
    • Replaces vacuum pumps, pneumatic valves, actuators and PLC controls systems, as needed.
    • Maintains a sufficient parts inventory for equipment, in order to minimize down time.
    • Works independently or in a team situation, and communicates effectively within all levels of the organization.
    • Responds to call-outs and emergencies.
    • Maintains Preventative Maintenance system, accurate logs and basic written records of work performed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manufacturing and R&D Engineering Support
    • Provide manufacturing support to electrical and mechanical production test systems and productions processes.
    • Troubleshoot production system issues, determine root cause failure, and implement corrective actions.
    • Assist R&D engineers to test devices and implement production lines.
    • Work with operations and manufacturing engineers to support process improvements.
    • Develop and maintain custom test fixtures and interfaces.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certificate or degree required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an electrical, mechanical and manufacturing technician.
  • Experience with HVAC, RODI, Sterilization and steam generation preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Understanding of the general principles of electrical/mechanical applications.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, fixture design/validations, electrical connections and soldering.
  • Ability to develop and follow systematic troubleshooting procedures to address down time and equipment issues.
  • Experience with measurement techniques and instrumentation.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize assignments.
  • Demonstrate exceptional process knowledge, and be able to interpret technical data, operating and maintenance instructions, and company specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
