What you will do

In your new role as a Senior Engineer (m/f/d) focusing on Supplier Quality, you’ll act as the central interface between our international suppliers and Stryker. Your common goal is the continuous improvement of supplier quality. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that our external partners meet expectations in terms of quality, service and costs. You will work with internal customers and suppliers in support of supplier quality issues. This role will also provide coaching and guidance to the Supplier Quality Engineering team (SQE) to ensure compliance to technical, regulatory and Stryker requirements.

Your key responsibilities

  • Working in partnership with the Global Supplier Network, you'll be involved in the ongoing support for the internal business units to address ongoing supplier quality issues, development of suppliers and ensuring that our external supply chain is capable of meeting expectations from a quality, service and cost perspective.
  • As an experienced engineer, you will assume professional leadership responsibility within your team. You actively share your knowledge, set the direction for complex issues and support essential decision-making processes.
  • You will collaborate closely in a network with partner departments, such as our strategic purchasing department and the auditor group, in order to establish strategic partnerships with suppliers.
  • This role will provide coaching and guidance to the SQE team to ensure compliance to technical, regulatory and Stryker requirements.
  • In partnership with the legal teams, you will work to develop contractual agreements between Suppliers and the Global Stryker network, focused on developing consistent frameworks for quality products and clear responsibilities.
  • With your guidance, you will be developing an organized structure for the multiple Stryker facilities to maintain their Supplier documentation, and be a key interface for the process.
  • In the long term, you can develop into an absolute specialist and take on global strategic supplier projects. Our internal application system also gives you the opportunity to find out about new challenges in the international Stryker Group.

What we are looking for

You are a perfect fit for our team if:

  • You have successfully completed an engineering degree and have at least 5+ years of professional experience in a regulated production environment.
  • You are familiar with Good Manufacturing Practice, ISO 13485 and 21CFR820 and are confident in the application of common quality methods such as FMEA, Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen.
  • You enjoy working with many interfaces, communicating and finding creative solutions to various challenges in interdisciplinary teams both internally and externally.
  • You have an analytical, customer- and solution-oriented personality and are fluent in German and English.
  • You are in possession of a category B driving license and estimate international travel activities of approx. 20-30%.
