Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Sr. Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for developing software in a regulated environment and will contribute to projects, under the direction of the lead software engineer or architect. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contributing ideas to early product concepts
  • Strong C++ coding experience in an embedded/RTOS environment
  • Contributing to software design decisions
  • Working closely with Interactive Design and System Engineer to define interfaces
  • Working closely with hardware engineers to define platforms
  • Working closely with software architect on high-level software design
  • Architecting User Interface software modules
  • Generating software requirements
  • Documenting software detailed design
  • Implementing software and unit tests according to design documentation
  • Supporting software integration on the hardware
  • Troubleshooting systems integration and software
  • Ensuring deliverables and work products adhere to the quality system
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2 years applicable experience

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for User interface development
  • Excellent verbal and written documentation and communication skills.
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to determine and meet project objectives.
  • Experience with one or more  POSIX-compliant real-time operating systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to follow good software development processes
  • Personable, able to work well in an open team environment and with outsource partners.

WORKING CONDITIONS:   

  • Office environment, extended hours as needed
  • Minimal travel (under 5%)
