The Job's Mission

The Senior Director of Marketing is the functional leader, responsible for driving market share growth by formulating and executing an effective strategic sales and marketing plan, maximizing new product introductions, and enhancing key customer relationships across Europe for Joint Replacement. The Snr Director Marketing will be a member of the Global Joint Replacement Marketing team reporting directly to the VP Marketing Joint Replacement and also be member of the European Joint Replacement Leadership team and have strong dotted line to the VPGM Joint Replacement Europe.

The Senior Director will be based in our European Regional Headquarters and be responsible for centrally planning, organizing, and leading all marketing activities of their business unit across Europe- including organizational structure and talent development, strategy, budgeting, and divisional collaboration with the US.

Additionally, the Senior Director will be responsible for leading and developing the Joint Replacement Marketing team. Collaboration and driving engagement with key stakeholders whilst empowering salesforce across the organization will be required to ensure delivery of initiatives and proper internal and external messaging.

Design. Develop. Implement. Market. In this key leadership role, you’ll act as the guiding force in creating and executing marketing programs that promote Stryker’s Joint Replacement world-class products and services.

  • As a Senior Director of Marketing, you have the powerful opportunity to significantly impact the strategy of the Marketing teams. You’ll manage teams of managers, plan for the teams’ future needs and operations, and build and develop team engagement.
  • When it comes to the financial aspects of this role, you’ll design the vision that supports the overarching revenue and market share for the Marketing group, owning the development, implementation and marketing plans that go along with it.
  • We’ll count on your analytical mindset to gather and present key customer segmentation and value proposition data, painting a picture of what objectives are most critical.
  • Using your creativity and marketing mindset, you’ll guide sales teams on how to tailor specific efforts to meet market needs.
  • Collaboration is huge in this role – you’ll partner with external local KOLs, sponsors and advisory boards as well as internal sales management and consulting surgeons – all with the mission of establishing Stryker as a leader in the healthcare industry. From industry events to sales presentations, you’ll ensure our brand is always at the top of people’s minds.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree and an MBA/Business Masters is desirable
  • Proven track record in International marketing and/or sales management/leadership in a multinational medical device company. A combination of marketing and P&L experience is ideal.
  • Proven experience from implementing initiatives resulting in significant market share growth and delivery on financial commitments.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing programs to evaluate market characteristics and trends, and position and differentiate products/services in new and existing markets.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; strong cross-functional influencing skills; plus the ability to relate well to colleagues & surgeons from varied divisions, markets & cultures.
