We are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer-Mechanical that is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan

What you will do:

  • As a Senior Design Engineer-Mechanical, you will design, validate, and bring new products to market for use in the Sterile Processing Department that ensure instruments and equipment are suitable for use in the OR.
  • Coordinates and/or designs, develops, modifies and evaluates mechanical components, assemblies, or subsystems for electrical and/or electromechanical medical devices under specific time, regulatory and cost constraints.
  • Will determine and ensure the use of specific design approaches and parameters and will conduct feasibility studies on new designs.
  • Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
  • Will analyze equipment to establish operating data, ensure experimental tests are conducted and evaluate the results.
  • Will select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
  • Will aid in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, have manufacturability and are reliable.
  • Will assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
  • Will work with Technical Leadership and project management team on breaking down work, scheduling, risks, and project updates.
  • Will interact with customer to support determining requirements and validation of requirements.

What you need:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related
  • Minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Demonstrated experience with ProE or CAD.
  • Demonstrated technical design and problem-solving skills.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
