Job Description

  • Provide reporting and analyses of R&D expense and headcount to Joint Replacement and R&D leadership
  • Ensure budgets and forecasts meet organization's financial targets
  • Serve as a key process and system resource for R&D project reporting (using Power BI, Excel, Oracle)
  • Understand existing data models, and assist in development of new data models. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing available tools to support reporting and analysis.
  • Provide recommendations and interpretations of the data or information provided/collected.
  • Participate in development of processes and mechanisms for data cleansing, and pro-active monitoring of data quality.
  • Respond to all ad hoc requests for data from R&D teams, and internal team members.
  • Follow processes and procedures to support, streamline, and in some cases automate, analytic and measurement strategies.
  • Owner of process improvement projects that will drive efficiency amongst the team.
  • Engage customers as needed relative to inquiries surrounding reporting, data requests, project estimates
  • Document and maintain process instructions that will assist in the training of new analysts.
  • Ability to build sustainable relationships of trust with internal customers and provide guidance on day-to-day and strategic initiatives.

What you need

  • Bachelor of Science in Finance related field, and/or Economics.  Prefer CPA, CFA and/or Master's Degree in Business Administration or Finance.  Also prefer experience in SAP with focus on data analytics, data mining, and dashboard construction
  • 2+ years demonstrated successful experience (in the medical device or relevant industry is an advantage but not a pre-requisite)
  • Demonstrated communication, customer service and analytical skills
  • Experience of working within a Sarbanes Oxley compliant organization
  • Investment analysis experience within the Medical Device or similar industry is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite.
  • Proficient technical application skills that enable use of multiple financial systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and knowledge in the use of current office technologies (MSOffice suite, PowerBI, databases, etc.)
