We currently have an opportunity within our Robotics division for a Robotic Segmentation & Planning Engineer based in our Sydney Head Office;


Your key areas of responsibility would be:


  • Providing segmentation and pre-op planning support to Surgeons, Mako Product Specialists, Robotic specialists and Robotic launch specialists.
  • Downloading and qualify CT Scans for surgical use. Segment CT Scan Data using specialized software to create 3D Anatomical Models.
  • Review CT segmentations and Surgical Plans for accuracy of anatomical landmark selection, implant sizing and positioning according to surgeon preferences.
  • Liaising with surgeons on plans, ensuring surgeons’ agreement and following up post-op to confirm surgeon satisfaction and adherence to parameters set.
  • Develop in-depth work instructions for robotic segmentation and pre-operative planning for each robotic application (including preparation of relevant training material for new robotic applications).
  • Provide support to sales staff and clinical support staff by attending robotic arm assisted procedures as and when required.

As the successful candidate, you possess:


  • Ability to learn technical concepts efficiently and to a high level
  • Excellent problem solving skills and be able to trouble shoot under pressure
  • The capability to grasp 2D images and translate into 3D space in reality and on the robot.
  • Outstanding attention to detail in all aspects of segmentation
  • The ability to adapt to changing environments and different demands, thieve in a fast-paced environment, but maintain focus and ability to deliver accurately.
  • Belief that robotics has the potential to make health care better and want to be part of a new frontier in medicine.
