Job Description

Under close to general supervision, performs routine to moderately complex and repetitive inspection tasks using standard procedure, gauges, tools, and equipment.

Education and Special Skills

• High school diploma
• Basic computer skills

• Reading, writing, arithmetic, and measuring skills.
• Blueprint/ Engineering schematic reading and interpretation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 0-2 years related experience

• Reading, writing, arithmetic, and measuring skills.
• Blueprint/ Engineering schematic reading and interpretation.
• Ability to select and operate appropriate measurement equipment accurately.
• Basic inspection techniques.
• 1+ year experience with close tolerance or quality control inspection.

Physical and Safety Requirements

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Very good visual acuity.
• Ability to work with and inspects various size objects, tools, and/or component parts.
• May involve prolonged periods of stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and/or crawling as appropriate.

• Must be able to observe and note minute inconsistencies.
• Must be able to follow and explain detailed instructions and inspection procedures.
• Must be able to explain detailed documentation accurately.
• Must be able to communicate product and/or component part deficiencies to supervisory or Engineering personnel.

Quality Expectations:

• Ensures raw, materials, in process, and/or finish products, or components meet company regulatory standards.
• May support internal audits
• Independent Contact support staff for assistance
• Learn quality processes and policies.
• Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail.
• Accurately follow documentation and regulatory procedures as expected.
• Will train others on quality standards, equipment, and procedures.

Job Knowledge Experience:

• Complete all necessary grade level training.
• Be willing to cross train into other areas as needed.
• Ability to support new product launches.
• Will use basic metrology to complete inspection requirements (Incoming and In-Process).
• Can select appropriate measurement equipment.

Versatility Expectations:

• Will train with multiple people on different products or processes.
• Responds adequately to most new situations.
• Execute directions and priorities established by others.

Productivity Expectations:

• Proficient in general equipment usage to conduct basic inspections.
• Support product deadlines.
• Ability to complete inspection tasks as received.
