Job Description


  • Review 3D-CAD models and 2D-Manufacturing drawings on their completeness and manufacturability.
  • Personal responsibility for choice of manufacturing process, processing and direct communication with the requesting R&D engineer.
  • Create individual work plans Proceed raw-material and tool orders for the internal manufacturing processes.
  • Professional, efficient and safe operation of conventional-, CNC operated-,multi-axis- and additives manufacturing equipment:
  • Create and optimize CNC programs for new products with the CAM system or machine programming depending on the machine.
  • Machine setting up and running of the CNC programs created.
  • Run manufacturing lots of prototype-, test-, and in some cases validation batches. Operating, loading and unloading equipment deburring and intermediate cleaning of parts Execution of design concepts and validations on the machine
  • Ensure the quality of manufactured products according quality system and Inspection Plan.
  • Perform design and manufacturing feasibility studies in collaboration with the R&D engineers.
  • Developed fixtures and measurement concepts.
  • Close collaboration with the other CAM programmers.
  • Secure the transfer of the developed designs and the manufacturing process by documentation to the R&D.
  • Improve the manufacturing processes in terms of quality, cost, lead time and safety Support and train where applicable other employees on programming tools Follow QM documents and safety regulations as applicable.
  • Various work according to the instructions of the supervisor Technical developments according to requirements and the individual development plan.
  • Team Member 6S Initiative
  • Participate in the definition and purchase of equipment enhancement and capital investment.

Qualification and experience

  • Completed 4-year mechanic apprenticeship or similar.
  • Computer literacy: General computer skills (MS Word, Excel).
  • 2+ years of related experience, prior experience in the medical device preferred.
  • Very good knowledge in the areas of manual and automated manufacturing technology, assembly technology, NC- and CNC-Technology.
  • Very good CNC ISO programming knowledge.
  • Very good Software program/control skills (for example, Heidenhain, Siemens or Fanuc).
  • Good knowledge in cutting titanium and high-alloy stainless steel.
  • Good knowledge of a CAD / CAM software.
  • Experience in 5-axis milling and turning centers preferred.
  • The will to advance the knowledge and knowhow in state of the art production methods, applicable standards and detenct and investigate trends.
  • Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing technologies.
  • Demonstrated Technical depth.
