Stryker is seeking to hire a Project Manager, Advanced Operations to support new product development for Stryker’s Endoscopy Division in San Jose, California.

As a Project Manager, Advanced Operations you will be responsible for project & stakeholder management, people management (where applicable) and the technical assessment of all assigned projects.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

As the Project Manager, Advanced Operations you will successfully lead an engineering team to deliver key programs or projects per associated timelines, quality requirements and budget.

As a Project Manager, Advanced Operations you will assume overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. The Project Manager is responsible to the project stakeholders for delivering a project’s objectives within scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end manufacturing operations and processes pertaining to new product development project & stakeholder management and the technical assessment of all assigned projects.

The Project Manager will successfully lead an engineering team and influence cross-functionally to deliver key programs or projects per associated timelines, quality requirements and budget.

ADDITIONALLLY YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Partners with the Divisional PM and/or assumes overall responsibility of the for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
  • Be responsible and accountable to the project stakeholders for delivering a project’s objectives and deliverable's within scope, schedule, cost and quality.
  • Lead New Product, Process and Technology implementation initiatives while tightly managing project spend on capital & expense budgets.
  • Define and clarify the scope of the project in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project.
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
  • Review the project schedule with management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required.
  • Ownership for managing and reporting project progress to management, stakeholders and appropriate staff.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Advanced Technology and Global Marketing to drive successful project implementation.
  • Accountable for ensuring that vendor performance meets scope/costs/timeline expectations. Responsible for working with R&D and Advanced Sourcing to choose and evaluate vendors.
  • Actively engage with Manufacturing Operations to evaluate existing process layouts in terms of new process integration, ensuring best utilization of floor space, minimized handling and optimum process flow
  • Participate in the selection, training and performance appraisal process of project resources, including temporary contract SMEs as required
  • Responsible for identifying, monitoring, and appropriately managing project risk and liaise with broader AO team on common NPI issues and resolutions
  • Establishment of priorities, imparting a sense of urgency and importance to the team while using project management tools and techniques to support the delivery of new products per cost and time commit

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required. (Bachelor’s in engineering highly preferred).
  • 5+ years related work experience in a Technical and/or Project Management required, of which 2+ years’ experience in a Project Manager role highly preferred.
  • Technical and/or Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment within a regulated environment preferred (medical device, automotive, pharmaceutical or food industry).
  • PMP Certification, experience in Agile or MS Project, project management tools highly preferred.

ADDITIONALLY, YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • High level of PC Skills required. (MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Results and action orientation – ability to get work done in a timely fashion, handle multiple priorities, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive verbal and written communicator who can interface with all levels of the company, including executives.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 20%
