We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to support our Communications products in Flower Mound, TX.

The Production Supervisor will direct the activities of employees engaged in manufacturing activities including, but not limited to, training and supervising, maintaining a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and established policies and procedures.

Specific responsibilities of the Production Supervisor include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Supervise production line set-up including testing and adjusting line equipment prior to operation and ensuring production line starts on schedule
  • Supervise all production activities performed by employees; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the shift
  • Allocate and lead resources in area based on production schedule and standards
  • Establish and maintain department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy
  • Monitor and report daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime
  • Report equipment problems to appropriate department and production manager
  • Coordinate with quality control to maintain quality standards; take appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies
  • Forecast staffing needs to meet peak demands of the business and staff team accordingly; train, motivate, coach, reward, and discipline employees being supervised; resolve personnel issues
  • Coordinates with the production manager to manage personnel issues including but not limited to vacation approvals, time card approval, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training
  • Conduct one to one meetings as needed with all direct reports
  • Achieve employee engagement by being responsible and accountable for actions and promoting an environment that fosters personal growth and development
  • Provide developmental coaching and guidance to team in the areas of communication, quality, and adherence to company policies
  • Evaluate employee performance through various means, such as talent reviews, common annual reviews, and up to performance management.
  • Assist production manager with development and implementation of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by employees
  • Collaborate with cross functional team to standardize processes, and achieve plant goals
  • Identify and lead cost reduction initiatives to deliver on financial projections
  • Own execution of MDI process up through Tier 2
  • Fill in for Operation Manager as needed to include Tier 3
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the support of business and process improvements including, but not limited to 6S, lean manufacturing initiatives, etc.
  • Own and execute Leader Standard work and audit requirements
  • Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications
  • Accountable for team training compliance and guidance to team members, while ensuring a proper tracking of competencies
  • Inspect for proper sanitation of equipment and facilities; takes corrective action to resolve deficiencies
  • Resolve production-related issues with representatives from other department throughout the company
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area
  • Maintain safety programs and all required safety training for employees.

Job Requirements

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in a supervisor/people manager role is required.

Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills/experiences:
  • 2-4 years related experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of production practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Proficient on Microsoft applications.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
