Mission of the position

The Mako Product Manager is focused on accelerating adoption of Mako within Italy. This includes managing all aspects of marketing associated with the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted platform, and collaborating with all key stakeholders (internal and external) to align our Mako messaging and activities to accomplish our Joint Replacement business goals in Italy.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Market insight and expertise- including trends, competition, reimbursement, pricing, user needs (VOC), new product ideas, and customer perceptions of brand
  • Align local discretionary budget, strategy, and execution to Italy & European strategies to achieve growth and market share targets
  • Enable, educate, influence, and align sales team to local marketing strategy and communicate updates on key performance indicators
  • Meet with prospective and current Health Care Professionals (HCP) customers in the field, including leading hands-on Mako product demonstrations and presentations
  • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with Stryker and competitor key opinion leaders (KOLs), reference centers and other influencers
  • Research, launch, or reposition products in local marketplace to maximize sales and growth using the ‘Big Picture’ Marketing approach
  • Partner with health-care institutions to deliver hospital marketing initiatives around the Mako platform.
  • Identification, planning, organization, and execution of marketing events, TPECs, congresses, and other professional education activities
  • Partner with Internal Education team to ensure sales force competency of Mako technology and associated applications
  • Assist with must-win product evaluations, tenders, or customer presentations
  • Develop trust and strong relationships with sales professionals, internal stakeholders, and customers including extensive field travel​
  • Operational management of product portfolio- demand planning including anticipated equipment fleet needs, demonstration equipment, and local PLCM impact

  • 50% Business Travel (extensive travel for training in first six months)

What are we looking for?

  • University degree (e.g. BSc. /B.A. in business with an emphasis in marketing preferable, life sciences, or health related discipline)
  • 5+ years sales/marketing experience (medical related field is preferable)
  • Product knowledge and selling/marketing experience with Orthopedics products will be a strong plus.
  • Proven track of record of working with customers
  • You are able to work with multiple stakeholders and you enjoy building strong and long-term relationships with them.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills required
  • Fluency in English and Italian is essential.
