Job Description

You will report to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and as a Process Controls Engineer, you will design and program control systems to support our pharmaceutical process systems and water purification plant.  Through monitoring the performance of these systems, you will identify and implement changes to maintain optimal efficiency, cost, and system availability for manufacturing.   • Monitor pharmaceutical processing systems and purified water system.
  • Maintain and improve systems through design and development of customized controls solutions.
  • Manufacture, build, and validate systems which include pneumatics, servos, vfd’s, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons, and integration.
  • Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, and allotted budget.
  • Conduct pre-qualifications and factory acceptance tests of new equipment and machinery.
  • Create documentation such as user manuals, system drawings, and controls schematics.
  • Proactively coordinate with project managers, other engineers, and maintenance technicians.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting and maintenance, as needed.

If you have these basic qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering (other disciplines will be considered based on relevant work experience and training).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical process systems and purified water systems.
  • Experience with integrating and programming Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs in liquid process systems.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET accredited university is highly preferred.
  • EIT certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, control narratives, and P&ID drawings; proficient in AutoCAD for creating and updating the same.
  • Proven experience making product quality decisions.
  • Working knowledge of algebra, geometry, and statistics.
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills and experience.
  • Proficiency with computerized record keeping systems including: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, maintenance management systems, quality management systems, and manufacturing execution systems.
