Job Description


  • Coordinate and execute onsite inspection, maintenance and repair of Stryker products in the field, working with customers and sales representatives to provide timely and effective service.  Provide product training to customers as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in multiple Stryker products including but not limited to Micro, Heavy Duty, and Hardware products as well as the Neptune Waste Management System. 
  • Plan and execute in-house as well as onsite training on the Neptune Waste Management System for prospective third-party field service technicians as well as customer account biomedical personnel.
  • Communicate effectively on the phone with third party repair technicians operating in the field to lend support during Neptune unit repairs. 
  • Assist in the drafting of Service Bulletins and other repair-related documentation as well as the development of repair procedures and fixtures to improve the quality and efficiency of field service.
  • Provide positive interaction with customers during service calls, preventive maintenance visits, installations and equipment trials to turn every encounter into a relationship-building experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to maneuver large toolboxes through airports and hospitals.
  • Must be able to use common hand tools as well as some power tools.
  • Must be able to work in somewhat confined spaces for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work under the confines of personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to work in close proximity to bio-hazardous material.
  • Must be able to travel frequently and on short notice.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively telephonically and via email.
  • Must be able to review printed material for accuracy.
  • Must be able to operate common office equipment.

Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to read, understand and explain detailed technical information.
  • Must be able to develop and deliver effective technical training.
  • Must be able to analyze and resolve highly technical field service support issues using independent judgment.
  • Must be able to coordinate detailed travel arrangements to include the shipment of parts to customer accounts.
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize work and keep detailed and accurate records.
  • Must be able to work under mentally challenging and stressful conditions with autonomy.

  • Minimum of 4 years technical service or equivalent experience.

  • Associate degree preferred
