As a Principal Software Engineer, Application Integrator at Stryker, you will work with cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of complex systems including application software architecture and design documentation for software on robotic-assisted surgery products.  

  • You will collaborate with key stakeholders and project team members to define software requirements that align with system, platform, and user needs.
  • Work closely with the Software Architect(s) and/or Software SME(s) to define software interfaces using SOLID design principles. 
  • Work closely with the System Architects on the design and development of software interfaces. 
  • Work closely with the System Test Leads to define the test plan and conduct testing of software interfaces. 
  • Help ensure design and development efforts are aligned across multiple software engineering teams.  
  • Create structural and behavior diagrams, wireframes, APIs, and other types of documentation to help communicate technical concepts to key stakeholders and project team members.  
  • Develop software requirements and design specifications.  
  • Perform risk/hazard analysis on software interface designs.   
  • Work closely with software engineering teams to ensure full understanding of user and system needs.  
  • Evaluate the impact of proposed design modifications.  
  • Represent Software R&D in cross-functional programs regarding application software interfaces. 
What You Need:
  • College graduate with a degree focused on Computer Science or related fields. 
  • 8+ years of experience in the development of medical device software. Combination of education and experience is acceptable. 
  • Solid understanding of Agile and other software development life cycle methodologies  
  • Software development project experience in a highly regulated industry 
  • Experience in defining software requirements and design specifications 
  • Experience in Software functions/services integration and interfaces ongoing testing 

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 20%
