Job Description

Position Summary:

Provide hands-on assistance to the engineering staff in numerous aspects of new product development. Responsible for the technical functions which support R&D engineering activities such as bench top testing and evaluation, test method development and validation, product and prototype fabrication and assembly, experimental design or specialized test equipment. Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions and outlines of defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting functions. Conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work.


Responsibilities:

  • Prototype development and testing
  • Work independently with minimal guidance
  • Utilize computer skills (CAD, analytical analysis, etc.) to facilitate design decision making
  • Understand and comply with “Quality Control” requirements (i.e. Design Control, etc.)
  • Maintain materials and tools necessary for prototyping activities
  • Understand IP issues relative to design being developed
  • Maintain knowledge of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.
  • Perform day-to-day investigational testing and preliminary verification tests
  • Analyze, evaluate and design solutions to problems affecting product manufacturability or reliability
  • Interact with vendors to obtain equipment, components, supplies or services

Qualifications:

  • Two year technical degree and 7+ years of relevant experience or 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in metals processing, polymers, and electronics are a plus
  • Good computer skills (SolidWorks experience is a plus), data analysis skills and report writing skills are beneficial
  • Knowledge of medical products is beneficial
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • 10% travel
