Job Description


Working under close oversight of the Program Director, leads a cross-functional engineering team in the planning, coordinating, monitoring and execution of new and current medical device projects. Responsibilities include leading both technical, non-technical and implementation teams. This role leverages project management skills and a knowledge of other engineering disciplines including electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.

  • Working under general direction, lead a software engineering team on a major program or may function as project manager on small projects to develop new medical devices or accessories.
  • Continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Accountable for meeting project scope, milestones and cost objectives.
  • Provide timely project status reports and other communications to management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules in collaboration with other functional teams.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 5 years applicable experience

  • Experience with medical device integration
  • Experience in project management, working with cross functional and outside design partners
  • Demonstrated ability for predicting timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to determine and meet project objectives
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio)
  • Intermediate Project Management skills
  • Records management and good record keeping practices
  • Professional presentation and strong interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong ability to influence individuals and groups
  • Knowledge and understanding of product development within a regulated quality system
  • Self motivated, organized, efficient and process oriented
  • Able to persevere under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Intermediate task management, problem solving, and communication skills

  • Normal office environment
  • May require minimal (<10%) travel.
  • Occasional lifting – up to 30 pounds
  • Overtime as required
