Job Description


Responsible for obtaining material, components, and equipment for repair or rework by Supplier.  Coordination of Return Material Authorization (RMA) and ship / receive returns of rework from supplier base.  Works with Purchasing, and multiple areas of Quality to determine material requirements.


  • Utilize data collection systems to collect, monitor, analyze, material failure information.
  • Contact suppliers to obtain RMA, evaluate cost impact and create rework purchase order or debit memos to manage inventory movement to and from supplier.
  • Coordinates with suppliers and Procurement to establish re-work priorities.
  • Work cross functionally with Procurement/Engineering/Quality to resolve stranded inventory issues Ships materials to the supplier/vendor. • Ensure that supplier failure analysis and rework reports are completed in a timely manner and distributed to correct internal teams.
  • Reconciles the inventory of non-conforming material locations to open purchase orders and resolves any issues.  Conducts a bi-annual physical inventory on non-conforming inventory locations and prepares report for Inventory Supervisor.
  • Supports the Inventory Control functions in database maintenance and reporting processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • 2-3 years of related job experience


  • 3 years’ experience in the field of material and inventory control or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • APICS CPIM certification preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of Purchasing, Accounts payable and Material costs.
  • Possess demonstrated planning, forecasting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Exhibits positive people skills, and a team approach to problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, and write policies and procedures.
  • Professional and effective written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, good organization skills and be detailed orientated.
  • Working knowledge of PC applications particularly spreadsheet and database management.
