Job Description

Based in the Madrid, the Medical Regional Manager Pre Hospital will report directly to the Business Unit Director, Medical. This individual will be responsible for driving growth across the whole region, which covers the Pre Hospital products. Success in this role will be measured through extraordinary results in terms of developing people, attracting the best talent, sales growth, controlling margin, influencing customers (internal and external), driving market acquisition and remaining brand dominant in all key brands.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

  • Planning, executing and monitoring of all measures necessary to guarantee achieving budget

  • Providing best in class customer service (internal and external) every day and pushing the boundary in terms of top class customer interaction at all levels

  • Having a great sense of self-awareness such that as a leader-manager, the team feel excited to work with the individual and they can share openly the wins and the challenges

  • Having a record that demonstrates the ability to match long term employee engagement and retention with sales results

  • Taking ownership of all aspects of the commercial needs of the region, from individual negotiations with the team to full tender proposals

This encompasses in particular:

  • The selection, leadership, development, engagement, and supervision of the assigned sales team

  • Strong commercial acumen, matched by great results over time, to coach and mentor consistent winning plays in the region

  • Have a great understanding of how individuals perform best and show record of getting the best from contrasting team players

  • Show ability to drive team and individual engagement

  • Control all resources and materials in his related sales area

  • Optimize his resources and responsibility for the running of a profitable business in his area

  • Managing the team in terms of price negotiations and contractual preparation within the limits of in-house guidelines, up to contract conclusion

  • Achieving the sales and margin targets for the region

  • Managing and developing the leading medical device sales professionals in their region

  • Provision of up to date market knowledge and metrics for the region to the Medical Iberian management team

  • Representing Stryker at a management level to all levels of HCP, commissioners and managers in their regional health economy

  • Develop strong internal cross-divisional relationships within the region to enable ‘One Stryker’ wins

Job Requirements


Degree or similar academic background is preferred. Preferably training in a medical, scientific, technical career or degree in sciences, economics or the like
Successful sales management experience is essential
Capital sales record essential, both as a sales professional and sales manager
Experience in team leadership
Experience in people development and performance management
Knowledge and experience in healthcare commissioning environment
Commercial skills in leading a profit centre
Product knowledge
Anatomical proficiency
Knowledge of a CRM system
Knowledge of an ERP system
Computer skills, MS Office
Presentation skills with modern presentation media
A proven track record within Stryker (internal candidates)
Native language and english
