Job Description: The Medical Education Specialist supports the Surgical Technologies business unit by planning and executing nurse education programs in a fast-paced, results-oriented setting.  Will also build and maintain relationships with internal partners and customers.  All responsibilities will be conducted in accordance with annual budget parameters, Stryker compliance standards, AdvaMed Code, and all national and state regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Surgical Technologies nurse education program in alignment with the marketing strategy and annual education goals
  • Partner with marketing and sales to develop and support educational programs of various size including registration site development, meeting space coordination, catering, equipment coordination and shipping, staffing, etc.
  • Collaborate with marketing team on continuing education (CE) course development and updates; partner with accreditation provider to create CE course content
  • Manage the Stryker LEARN brand and website
  • Educate regional managers and sales force on nurse education offerings that meet unique territory needs; provide training to sales reps on the process and policies of hosting CE presentations
  • Foster relationships with internal partners, other Stryker business units and educational entities to ensure collaborative education events for our customers
  • Collaborate with medical education and marketing teams to determine required products and logistics for medical education events including cross-divisional and vendor partners
  • Travel to and support events across the US (travel can be outside the parameters of a normal workweek); facilitate all aspects of the course (set-up, coverage, tear-down), and interact with participants during events
  • Track nurse education program data according to business needs and annual goals; utilize data to inform decisions related to programming strategy in collaboration with medical education and marketing teams
  • Assess the impact of nurse education program offerings using various tools: course evaluations, focus groups, research, and/or conference attendance
  • Develop relationships with nursing consultants and recommend appropriate HCPs as needed in collaboration with Professional Affairs colleagues
  • Maintain a current understanding of compliance and transparency regulations and ensure adherence at all events
  • Assist with medical education projects as needed, and identifies ways to improve the Medical Education brand

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-4 years relevant experience required
  • Intermediate understanding of event coordination preferred
  • Basic understanding of trade shows, marketing and medical education preferred
  • Nursing experience desired
  • Proven track record of relationship development
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, organization and follow through
  • Must be a positive, collaborative team player
  • Proactive, self-starter who can think independently and strategically

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 50%
