The Job's Mission

The Director of Marketing is the functional leader, responsible for driving market share growth by formulating and executing an effective strategic sales and marketing plan, maximizing new product introductions, and enhancing key customer relationships across Europe. As the member of the leadership team, he/she will report directly to the Managing Director Interventional Spine (lVS), Europe.

The Director will be based in our European Regional Headquarter and responsible for centrally planning, organizing, and leading all marketing activities of their business unit across Europe- including organizational structure and talent development, strategy, budgeting, and divisional collaboration with the US.

Additionally, the Director will be responsible for leading and developing the IVS brand and education managers’ team. Collaboration and driving engagement with key stakeholders whilst empowering salesforce across the organization will be required to ensure delivery of initiatives and proper internal and external messaging.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead marketing planning process- defining overall strategy and business performance objectives. Implement effective and consistent processes for product launch, market intelligence, PLCM, pricing of commercialized products and other marketing tactics
  • Foster alignment with global teams to maximize product launches, education, best practice sharing, and PLCM activities.
  • Create 5-year strategic plan and mentor team on development of annual Marketing and customer excellence plans to drive growth and market share gains.
  • Lead the development of Marketing’s best practices to develop effective value propositions and sales tools that are practical to use and aligned to division and regional specific requirements; ensure full alignment with the Sales organization.
  • Identify KOLs and strategic customers, create plans to convert or maintain KOLs on product lines, execute strategies to force increase through reference centers, teaching facilities, or "podium presence".
  • Lead efforts to increase organizational capability- including across functions- necessary to execute current and future customer excellence strategy.
  • Define Medical Education strategy, ensuring equipment needs are met for IVS courses whilst maintaining best-in-class internal and external education programs.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and manage business improvement opportunities and mitigate business risks.
  • Ensure strong partnerships with supporting services like Procare whilst ensuring effective message and access control to IVS channel.
  • Develop, engage and inspire the marketing and education team members whilst setting clear expectations and effectively evaluating performance.
  • Assess talents and work closely with HR to continuously enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the business unit with respect to people, development, retention, succession planning and employee engagement.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree and an MBA/Business Masters is desirable
  • Proven track record in International marketing and/or sales management/leadership in a multinational medical device company. A combination of marketing and P&L experience is ideal.
  • Proven experience from implementing initiatives resulting in significant market share growth and delivery on financial commitments.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing programs to evaluate market characteristics and trends, and position and differentiate products/services in new and existing markets.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; strong cross-functional influencing skills; plus the ability to relate well to colleagues & surgeons from varied divisions, markets & cultures.
