The Job's Mission

The Marketing Director EEMEA will have ownership of the existing franchise revenue, market share and portfolio of products and will report directly to President EEMEA.  The candidate will have responsibility for formulating and executing an effective strategic marketing plan to drive above market growth of market share and operating income.  

The leader will be responsible for centrally planning, organizing and leading all activities of the business to deliver sustainable growth and drive profitability for the EEMEA. Specific responsibilities include delivering, development and implementation of strategic marketing strategy including medical education, budgets, financial plans, collaboration with the local GMs and their teams in the region.  The Marketing Director EEMEA will also take a seat in the Global Marketing Council as well as the European Marketing Council representing EEMEA interests and support by best practice and program sharing.

What will you do:

  • Ensure alignment between local businesses (GMs and Teams) and Central Marketing
  • Be a core member of the EEMEA Leadership Team and play a key role in the development of cross functional business strategies. All the time driving performance excellence in Sales/Marketing systems and processes for Stryker’s Brands.
    • Lead the strategic sales/marketing planning process for EEMEA, defining its overall strategy and setting key business performance objectives and agree on commitments with country leads in a coordinated manner with the rest of the team.
    • Develop and recommend short- and medium-term business plans for the region and associated tactical activities to ensure sales, operating profit and business plans are achieved all the while making sure that a sustainable process is in place to support them.
    • Identify and execute on strategic growth opportunities by market via entrance and exit strategies as well as mergers and acquisitions for the business.
    • Consult and communicate with all areas of the company especially Marketing Councils, US & International marketing, new product development, R&D, and global manufacturing to assist in the understanding SYK’s global product marketing and business strategy.
  • Manage a team of Franchise professionals and Medical Education & Training Manager, drive the  engagement of this team and set clear goals and objectives
  • Manage Product Launches:
    • Work closely with the US and implement key Brand product introductions in EEMEA
    • Establish an effective product launch process to take into account all local regulatory conditions
    • Provide direction and leadership to the local marketing organizations as they roll out the launch locally.
    • Manage portfolio and lifecycle in line with PLCM guidelines
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships and network with Global and European Marketing Teams

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree and an MBA/Business Masters is desirable
  • Proven track record in International marketing and/or sales management/leadership in a multinational medical device company. A combination of marketing and P&L experience is ideal.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ marketing experience in medical devices/disposables/ capital equipment.
  • Proven experience in implementing initiatives resulting in significant market share growth and delivery on financial commitments.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing programs to evaluate market characteristics and trends, and position and differentiate products/services in new and existing markets.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; strong cross-functional influencing skills; plus the ability to relate well to colleagues & surgeons from varied divisions, markets & cultures.
