What you will do-

This is a management position that contributes and achieves results through others. The role is responsible for managing subordinates in professional jobs or managing through subordinate managers / supervisors or is a leader of process that achieves results through others, whom are not direct reports. Job requires comprehensive understanding of the concepts and principles in their discipline. The requirement for a broader knowledge implies the need to understand other concepts and principles in context in order to resolve issues that have an impact beyond the area.

Primary roles/responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Develop Global Commodity Sourcing strategy.
  • Develop and prepare Supply Agreements and coordinate with all Stryker sites worldwide to administrate those contracts.
  • Manage, coach, mentor, and develop the performance of team to drive and support a high performance work culture; includes writing and delivering performance appraisals, administering disciplinary action, providing positive recognition, liaising with Human Resources to ensure consistency in administration and compliance with Company policies, focusing on the development of high-potential employees, crafting succession plans, and establishing a collaborative environment that encourages and supports employee engagement.
  • Coordinate negotiations with multi-site suppliers.
  • Ensure global suppliers meet project requirements related to budget price, product technology, capability, capacity, logistics and Quality Assurance.
  • Organize and lead global “Sourcing Teams” in the specific sourcing category.
  • Introduce e-Procurement, e-Sourcing, e-Auctions and other innovative techniques to GSC worldwide.
  • Serves as signatory authority for Global Sourcing & Planning responsibilities on all specifications, checklists, procedures, and instructions.

What you need-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business (MBA in Operations Management ideal/preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management.
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience managing people.
  • CPM or CPIM certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Purchasing “best practices” and product manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Some domestic and international travel will be required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, & Word).
