What you will do


As a Manager, Quality Engineering you will be responsible for leading a team of Advanced (Design) Quality Engineers supporting two business units within Stryker Instruments’ Kalamazoo location. You will have cross functional responsibility and work closely with R&D and Advanced Operations leaders to deliver predictable, quality solutions for New Product Development (NPD).

  • You will develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain QA systems for new products and acquisitions.
  • You will oversee the designing of methods and procedures for inspection testing and will evaluate the precision and reliability of products and/or components and production and/or test equipment during the new product cycle.
  • You will train others in QA/GMP related topics.
  • You will be expected to operate autonomously and make decisions that are best for the business.
  • You will analyze reports on products and make recommendations on corrective action.
  • You will lead and coordinate the activities of Advanced Quality Engineers that are part of larger, cross-functional NPD project teams and will provide Quality leadership for the broader NPD team.
  • You will evaluate the performance of the Advanced Quality Engineering team based on pre-established performance parameters.
  • You must be able to develop talent, advocate for, and drive team development.

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
  • 8+ year of experience in a regulated environment
  • Experience in new product development
  • Experience in Design Controls and Risk Management related to NPD
