Job Description

Team Leadership, Management and Development:

  • Provide leadership throughout the organization by sharing knowledge, best practices and experiences with others; act as a change conduit when current processes are not ideal.
  • Develop accurate job descriptions, partner with recruiting, participate in the hiring process and execute a strong on-boarding plan in order to build a high performing, talented team focused on accomplishing corporate and divisional goals.
  • Empower team by providing stretch assignments, on-going development discussions, formal educational opportunities, freedom for enhanced creative thought and exploration as well as motivating, recognizing and addressing performance successes and challenges.
  • Address conflict and difficult conversations head-on in a timely, professional manner.
  • Self-directed creation of a development plan and utilize on-going formal and informal training opportunities to further develop skills and talents, maintain product and procedural knowledge and expand business acumen.

Consultant Management:

  • Develop a network of strong relationships with key opinion leaders and maintain consistent communication/feedback loop in order execute on departmental and divisional goals.
  • Strategize and develop business plans to engage consultants and other key opinion leaders in educational activities to support goals.
  • Manage messaging and difficult conversations with consultants to ensure limited disruption to business practices and goals.
  • Proficient use of the Corporate Compliance Database to ensure team accurately utilizes the system to for timely and correct processing of payments to consultants.

Development and Execution of New Education Initiatives:

  • Research and analyze competitive education and training activities, customer feedback and market research to determine best practices and strategize direction of customer-facing educational activities.
  • Strategize and oversee the development of new educational resources for on-demand education such as videos technique guides, online education, and iPad applications.
  • Identify needs for and oversee design of collateral materials to reinforce and further support the knowledge acquired during educational activities, including videos, presentations, handouts and hands-on objectives.
  • Investigate, identify solutions and develop new platforms and processes for delivering customer-facing activities.
  • Supervise the development of evaluation mechanisms for all customer facing activities and analysis of results to ensure departmental goals are met.

Compliant Customer Engagement and Communication Activities:

  • Oversee the design, administration and evaluation of local, regional and national product training programs through the selection of educational method, budget and attendee management, material and promotional development as well as onsite delivery of events to build upon the knowledge and skills on the safe and effective use of Stryker product.
  • Liaison with legal, compliance and transparency to ensure all departmental educational activities meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison and represent Stryker with educational sponsors for regional and/or national Third Party Education Conferences.
  • Anticipate, identify, creatively resolve and adapt changes in team when facing challenges associated with meeting departmental goals.
  • Drive cross functional group collaboration with other business units, Field Team and leadership to identify, promote, and execute educational strategies which support business strategies.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in the development and monitoring of yearly department budget, including all team expenditures associated with employee training, T&E, and educational activities to meet or exceed financial objectives.
  • Request proposals and negotiate vendor costs based on buying power and to ensure best prices are obtained while building strong vendor relationships.
  • Accountable, timely and accurate expense and transparency reporting for all team members.
  • Drive responsible use of event inventory materials and supplies as well as identify required upgrades to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Holds others to high standards on budget management.
