Responsibilities

The Manager, Indirect Procurement is responsible for identifying, leading and implementing cost improvement activities, sourcing and supplier selection, negotiations, and contract creation and maintenance.


Additional responsibilities of the Manager, Indirect Procurement include the following:

  • Partner with product divisions to review spending, and identify significant cost savings opportunities
  • Lead/support sourcing activities for assigned projects/commodities (e.g. indirect/freight spend, capital projects, etc.), including activities such as:
    • Data collection and spend analysis
    • Market Research
    • The RFx process (also known as go-to-market)
    • Negotiations
    • Contracting
    • Implementation and continuous improvement
  • Develop and drive spend leverage strategies, including policies, and driving best practice sharing and development
  • Drive supplier management/development activities to ensure continuous cost/service improvement.
  • Lead/support ad-hoc projects as required


Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or other relevant area of study is required.  A Master’s degree and/or Certified Purchasing Manager (or equivalent) is preferred. A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, with preferred experience in a strategic sourcing/procurement organization for a large, global company.  A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing, leading, or working with procurement or operations teams is also required.


Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills/experience:

  • Training in financial analysis, strategic analysis, negotiation skills and project management
  • Strong understanding of procurement/strategic commodity management preferred
  • Subject matter expert level experience in multiple direct or indirect procurement categories
  • Experience developing, negotiating, and implementing commercial contracts, including supply and service agreements
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results
  • Project management capability and experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working in a med-tech or similar fast-growth industry is a plus
