Job Description

The Corporate Policy Program Manager, to be based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, will be a key contributor within Stryker's Global Legal and Compliance team. This individual will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the Stryker Global Policy Program.  The objective of the Global Policy Program is to establish a consistent policy framework for Stryker. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with document management principles and will be adept at organization change management.  Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Stryker Policy Program development and management
    • Lead and support the Global Stryker Policy Program development.
    • Facilitate policy program activities with Document Control process owners across Stryker
    • Author key policies and procedures in support of the policy program development
    • Define program metrics to support ongoing monitoring for effectiveness
    • Solicit and gain support from program sponsors
  • Administration of policy creation and revision
    • Assist Authors with the creation and revision of Stryker policies and procedures
    • Ensure adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures that govern the Stryker Policy program including: Proper template and form usage and formatting, compliance with approval requirements, and effective policy and procedure writing.
    • Provide employee education and training as needed to ensure policy program compliance
    • Ensure that access controls are in place such that employees can access the required policies and procedures appropriate for their role
  • Continuous Improvement, Monitoring, and Communication
    • Regularly review policy program processes for effectiveness and recommend improvements as needed.
    • Solicit, incorporate and act upon customer feedback at various phases in the development of the policy program
    • Assist in conducting trending analysis of policy program metrics, as applicable
    • Provide data / status reports to management
  • Publish regular updates on new and revised policies

Education and Special Trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years experience in document management, quality, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Experience in document management and document management systems or content management systems or software is a plus

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent writing, editing and document formatting skills
  • Experience / familiarity with effective document control principles
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Passion for continuous improvement and demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Passion for quality and procedural compliance
  • Strict attention to detail
