Job Description

• Partner with business leadership teams to design and implement highly effective, results-driven legal and commercial strategies that deliver best practice solutions. Ensure timely advice to executives on relevant legal issues of the business.

• Oversee internal corporate policies, actively participate to their improvement and ensure implementation of and alignment with such policies in Italy.

• In connection with Divisional legal counsels, communicate and drive the business units’ commercial and legal strategy in the region, providing “thought leadership”, coaching, mentoring and guidance to the team and key stakeholders.

• Maintain high level of services in relation to Indirect Channels management, support business-winning bid activities, draft commercial contracts and lead complex negotiations.

• Manage risks in business operations and decisions.

• Draft legal papers, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents as needed.

• Provide timely legal advice to the businesses and other support functions on a wide variety of legal issues.

• Facilitate the development of user-friendly legal documentation.

• Handle litigation matters, including product claim issues.

• Maintain high-quality and cost-effective relationship with external legal counsels in Italy.

Job Requirements

• Qualified Italian lawyer.

• Fluent in Italian and English, a third language is a plus.

• Specialization in corporate law is a plus.

• At least seven (7) years of proven experience of acting in a similar position, ideally within an in-house environment. Experience in the healthcare sector is a strong plus.

• A leader and true business partner, with the gravitas to build high-trust relationships with senior executives and customers alike

• Strong command of compliance procedures, with focus on anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws. Experience with a US company is a plus.

• Proven experience of delivering results within a complex, matrix-driven corporate environment

• Politically savvy, able to achieve desired outcomes in an environment of competing priorities and objectives

• A highly analytical and thorough approach; numerate, IT literate and with exceptional attention to detail

• Must be able to communicate with large groups of people within and outside the country.

• Must demonstrate strong commitment for integrity and promote values and mission of the company and of the legal and compliance department

• Must act as a team player

• Must be able to communicate telephonically and by visio-conference

• Ability to use common software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe suite etc.

• Ability to prioritize things and to summarize complex issues in a clear manner
