What you will do

As a Technician Lead, you will serve as a working team leader whose primary function is to work to ensure daily and long-term team and departmental goals are achieved.  The Technician Lead is expected to positively lead and engage their staff to deliver consistently high-quality results for our customers as well as complete compliance to established processes and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Will serve as a technical testing team leader with responsibility to ensure their staff are trained, executing efficiently and clear in their work assignments and priorities.
  • Will be required to ensure their staff complies with documentation procedures and appropriate engineering standards
  • Will lead team huddles and meetings to ensure an informed and engaged team.
  • Will be an advocate within the team and department for company culture, business goals, and achievement of team-specific performance expectations.
  • Will take direction from Lab leadership as well as Test Engineers on work priorities to make the most of the technician workforce.
  • Will have an active and consistent focus on complete adherence to department metrics and goals as well as individual and team performance.
  • Will be primary on-the-Floor contact for technicians to answer questions or facilitate repair or set-up of test equipment.
  • Will lead a Testing Support team focused on making the rest of the lab operate smoothly and efficiency.  This includes making repair to broken equipment or software, preventative maintenance, calibration, ordering and stocking consumables, coordinating delivery of equipment and other activities to assist the lab. 
  • Will promote a high degree of cross-training for both their testing staff and the Test Support team.
  • Will Support the Test Lab Management on an ongoing basis regarding project updates and current/future state of the Test Lab Staff and equipment.
  • Will be required to comply with documentation procedures and appropriate engineering standards
  • Will coordinate with test engineers to ensure appropriate tests, equipment and results are obtained.
  • Will oversee and approve Test Requests in the Test Lab Request System
  • Will work with facilities in the improvement/maintenance of lab space

What you will do:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering Science, apprenticeship or equivalent demonstrated experience required
  • 1+ years relevant testing experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of testing, testing equipment, good laboratory practices and team leadership

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
