Job Description

The Lead Talent Acquisition Business Partner can be located at one of the following major Stryker locations - Mahwah, NJ; Kalamazoo, MI; or Flower Mound, TX.

  • Reviews candidate applications and conducts initial screening against job qualifications
  • Expert in proactive innovative attraction and sourcing techniques
  • Conducts pre-Gallup screening
  • Progresses qualified candidates and presents them to the Talent Partner
  • Dispositions unqualified candidates and provides feedback
  • Assists in the development and execution of functional area recruitment strategy
  • Optimizes the Applicant Tracking System to manage candidates and ensure data integrity
  • Searches for viable candidates in the ATS, including the Talent Network and My Supply
  • May attend job fair, university events or other recruiting venues as requested
  • Consistently able to manage a medium to high volume of requisitions at any given time
  • Primarily supports customer groups of medium to high complexity
  • Contributes to department Social Media efforts (e.g. contributes to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc)
  • Stays up to date on emerging recruitment trends, best practices, legal developments, and benchmark comparisons
  • Able to identify and continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies
  • Established as SME resource within team and outside of the team
  • Utilizes relationships across the organization to accomplish goals
  • Building relationships outside of the organization
  • Advanced understanding of med/tech industry
  • Assists team in anticipating obstacles and avoiding issues with projects and more complicated assignments
  • Frequent interactions with senior leaders
  • Advanced understanding of niche and senior roles


  • Will assist in the interpretation and administration of company policies and guidelines, and will advise and counsel others in equitable application
  • Follows the recruitment process to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and  employment legislation
  • Ensure recruitment efforts are conducted in a manner that is unbiased and compliant with all applicant tracking, interviewing and hiring best practices, policies and laws


  • Will conduct interviewing training and techniques
  • Will mentor teammates in recruiting best practices and use of recruiting tools

  Human Resources

  • Will assist in the preparation of reports
  • Will participate in new hire orientation and/or on-boarding
  • May coordinate the activities of 1 or more employees

Bachelors Degree; 6 or more years of recruiting experience or applicable Stryker experience;

  • Must be able to manage time, projects, stress, and conflict
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, including both oral and written communication
  • Must be able to multitask and bring tasks through to completion with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to negotiate effectively
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Must be familiar with the use of recruiting tools such as Gallup profiles, Performance Profiles and Behavioral Interviewing
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in a variety of ways
  • Must be able to generate, understand and explain detailed company policies and procedures, both routine and non-routine human resource and business issues of moderate scope
