Job Description

Stryker is implementing a transformative program focused on optimizing the Finance function to support business growth and functional scalability.  The Center of Excellence (COE) for the Americas region will focus on supporting countries and product divisions in the region in a variety of specialized finance and accounting areas, including:  financial planning & reporting, finance systems, leases, inventory, and other complex accounting areas. 

In the early stages of building out the COE, the Lead Analyst, Financial Planning & Reporting will focus on establishing a financial planning & reporting system solution and standardizing financial planning & reporting processes in preparation for transition to the COE.  The Lead Analyst, Financial Planning & Reporting will partner with specific divisions to ensure financial planning & reporting requirements are met.  As processes are established, additional divisions will be onboarded as part of the Americas COE, and this position will support the transition.  As the COE continues its expansion into other accounting/finance areas, the Lead Analyst, Financial Planning & Reporting will have the opportunity to assist in a variety of projects and gain exposure to different operating units.

The ideal candidate for this role will have an understanding of financial planning & reporting processes, coupled with the ability and desire to provide “hands-on” experience as this role will be developing and documenting the detailed procedures necessary to conduct standardized financial planning and reporting processes.

Responsibilities will evolve as this new function is established. 

Short-term focus-data harmonization and COE start-up:

  • Partnering with divisional finance teams to ensure data readiness
  • Developing COE governance principles to ensure continued data integrity
  • Establishing and documenting standardized financial planning & reporting processes

Ongoing responsibilities-financial planning & reporting service delivery:

  • Conduct planning and reporting processes and be responsible for improvements when necessary
  • Set budget and planning baselines and be able to detect the validity using analysis and knowledge of the local businesses being supported
  • Ensure adherence to standardized processes and data governance principles
  • Meet or exceed COE’s commitments in alignment with service level agreements
  • Help build and implement key capabilities in financial planning & reporting (e.g. predictive analytics, dashboarding, etc.)

Additional responsibilities/projects

  • Special projects as COE expands into other areas

Education & special trainings:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Required
  • Experience building and applying financial planning & reporting capabilities:  Required

Qualifications & experience:

  • 4+ years experience in financial planning & reporting
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data accurately and efficiently
  • Fluency in English required
  • Strong ability to coordinate action across dispersed workforce and highly matrixed organization
  • Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management
  • Effective problem-solving skills

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 20%
