Job Description

Summary: Assist the Manager, Medical Education in managing the day to day functions and clinical utilization of the Stryker Spine Leesburg surgical training laboratory. Provide input, preparation and on-site support for the hands-on components of surgeon and sales training programs led by the Medical Education team.  Assist Manager in other duties as determined by Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in loading dock functions (receive and deliver items, reconcile paperwork, use of a manual pallet jack/electric pallet jack)
  • Aid in removal of laboratory waste (bio-waste, non-regulated and regulated medical waste) as needed
  • Maintain freezers cleanliness
  • Ensures appropriate and safe handling of specimens, lab stock and supplies
  • Assist in stock room management with supplies as needed; supply ordering
  • Maintains lab instruments and equipment, including decontamination
  • Performs lab preparation for instruction and tear-down after the event
  • Working with faculty and staff to provide assistance in the laboratory when necessary
  • Maintains critical communication with manager to provide lab classroom support

  • Become familiar with surgical instrumentation, Stryker products and spine procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Ability to lift minimum 50 lbs. required
  • Ability to work and travel outside of normal business hours including occasional weekends
  • Work is primarily in laboratory setting, handling cadaveric specimen, with radiation present and laboratory instruments

Education and Special Training Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Qualifications and Work Experience Required:

  • Bioskills laboratory and spine experience preferred
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications required
