Job Description

Develop, direct, execute and lead the strategic account management business strategy that positions our product portfolio for accelerated growth in each customer segment of our business. Strengthen our market position through unique contracting strategies and cross divisional partnerships that create competitive advantages while continuously enhancing market knowledge, relationships, and expertise on the changing healthcare landscape.

Responsibilities
• Partners with the Sales team to foster relationships with key GPO’s, IDNs, Accounts and Physicians and drive new business growth
• Responsible for building and owning relationships with the HCS and Corporate Account team
• Direct the activities of the Strategic Sales Management team, including but not limited to: GPO Strategy, IDN Strategy, Key Account Management, and Neurotechnology
• Partner with Sales team on strategy for local and national programs and agreements
• Participates in setting overall Strategic and Business Plan for business
• Work with the sales team to identify/assess business opportunities and to drive program and account performance
• Identify, develop and maintain effective internal and external business relationships; ensure key contacts are maintained throughout the sales process and post-sale activities
• Develops and executes strategy for penetrating national teaching institutions and creates education and training programs for resident and attending surgeons
• Provides strategic trial support (SYK trials) nationally
• Work closely with cross-divisional branches to drive collaboration and improve return on investment for Stryker
• Support cross-divisional branch leaders and managers on business opportunities
• Conducts regular visitations to cross-divisional offices
• Identifies and executes opportunities to participate in cross-divisional labs
• Supervises or cooperates in market research programs to develop product literature
• Gathers market data and provides industry analysis as necessary
• Continuously assess relevant markets to identify business opportunities, as well as appropriate products and services
• Provide timely, informative data that enables management to make effective pricing and programming decisions
• Develop and implement summary and exception reports to validate program performance; present results of programs to management
• Responsible for pricing integrity and executing meaningful contracts that can be tied to growth
• Partner with Finance to assist in managing end-to end programming process, including data analysis, proposal and agreement creation, deal monitoring
• Partner with Marketing to identify and develop custom solutions for key accounts, and to ensure synchronicity in executing Marketing strategy
• Receive and address customer complaints in conjunction with Sales and Customer Care team
• Support the conversion of competitive doctors to use Stryker products
• Identify opportunities to maximize business by converting various GPO and IDN agreements from competitive accounts
• Must be capable for working with executive levels internally and externally to grow relationships, identify opportunities and maximize agreements in accounts
• Recommends participation in industrial, scientific and other types of exhibitions and may develop direct mail campaigns and programs in collaboration with the Medical Education team
• Collaborate with Sales Training team and participate in the Sales and/or Marketing training of others
• Develop, Coach, and Mentor the Strategic Sales Managers

Physical Requirements
• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Must be able to review printed materials
• Must be able to communicate with large groups of people
• Must be able to communicate telephonically
• Must be able to use common office equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, fax machine, etc.)
• Must be able to travel up to 70% annually
Mental Requirements
• Must be able to generate and explain detailed forecasts, guidelines and procedures
• Must be able to analyze and resolve non-routine sales issues using independent judgment
• Must be able to routinely make decisions which may affect immediate sales operations and have a divisional effect
• Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, product appearance, etc.)
