Job Description

The IS Program Manager is responsible for managing a range of projects in a coherent way to achieve strategic objectives. The IS Program Manager plans and coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery, initially for projects in the Global Quality & Operations IS portfolio. Select responsibilities include:

  • Overall management and co-ordination of the program, its projects and their interdependencies.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed program plans.
  • Manage the program budget demonstrating advanced skills in financial management and budgeting, as well as procurement and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain a program risk register to manage program issues and escalate where necessary.  Includes reviewing escalated project issues to evaluate whether they will affect the program.
  • Reviewing project change requests to assess any impact at program level.
  • Managing and utilizing resources across projects.
  • Conducting team assessment and evaluations.
  • Developing standards, tools and systems to effectively and efficiently manage projects.
  • Partnering with the governance team to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, standards, procedures, and associated documentation including but not limited to computer systems validation, SOX, and PM standards.
  • Coordinating and motivating project teams through strong leadership acumen.
  • Acting as an escalation point to drive collaboration with program and project team members to resolve conflicts, project issues, and deviations and drives them to resolution.
  • Working with members of the senior management team to set the overall strategy and objectives for a group of projects in alignment with the organization’s goals.
  • Communicating and setting expectations across divisions, functions, 3rd party vendors, consulting partners, project teams, and stakeholders depending on program needs.
  • Monitoring and reporting on program status to all stakeholders.  Escalate issues as required.
  • Submitting at minimum one status report per month. 
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

Education, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Investment in continued education desired.
  • Knowledge of Lean and ITIL desired.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience is required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience managing a team is highly preferred.
  • Has a proven record of managing successful projects. Experience leading successful large projects across multiple functions and global locations.
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Project is desired.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, operations and quality environments is desired.
  • Experience implementing SAP for manufacturing is desired.

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
