Job Description

Our Information Services (IS) Architect is a core member of Stryker’s IS M&A team.  This role is responsible for executing the IS M&A playbook from due diligence through company integration.  Activities include final review and approval of due diligence reports and integration cost estimates, assembling the integration team, coordinating with target counterpart, and managing the overall integration program. 

The IS Architect will identify and remove friction and roadblocks, develop and execute plans, monitor progress against milestones, maintain high levels of communication, mitigate risks, drive continual improvement, and ensure successful outcomes.  Essential roles and responsibilities for the IS Architect are focused on executing the M&A Integration strategy and tactics, including:

  • Assembling the integration teams and program governance and meeting agendas.
  • Developing and monitoring the overall integration schedule and work plans with appropriate milestones, deliverables, resource plans and interdependencies.
  • Gathering and consolidating risks and issues from functional work streams and preparing presentations to address issue resolution.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and reporting on the key performance indicators (KPIs) for the overall integration effort.
  • Creating a measurement system and/or tools to assess awareness, understanding, buy-in and support of change management activities.
  • Building tool kits to track work streams and financial scorecards.

Education, Certifications & Special Trainings:

  • Bachelor degree in business, finance/accounting, engineering, information systems or related discipline required.
  • PMP certification is desired.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated track record of leading and managing project activities is required.
  • Previous experience in mergers & acquisitions, project management, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to design, coordinate, and assess due diligence activities necessary to complete acquisitions.
  • Personal skills necessary to interact effectively at all levels of an organization from the BoD, CEO and executive leadership team, through all operating levels and with all levels of professionals.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. Proven ability to effectively participate in, plan and manage multiple projects with a track record of delivering on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills: listens, communicates and shares information at all levels to enhance business processes. Demonstrated use of a variety of communication methods. Strong writing and presentation skills are imperative.
  • Strong problem solving and analytic ability.
  • Good judgment and decisive. Ability to effectively determine actions and make recommendations after developing alternative courses of actions.  Understand impact and influence on others.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively explore alternatives and solutions to reach mutually beneficial outcomes. Ability to gain support and acceptance from all cross-functional teams impacted.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
