Job Overview

Drive improvement of inventory management processes with a strong focus on inventory analysis and optimization.  Develop processes and policies to improve all aspects of inventory control, including but not limited to Inventory Accuracy, traceability and control of warehouse inventories, inventory counting and shrinkage reduction.  This individual must serve as a contributing member of the Operations team while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values.


Responsibilities


Individual Responsibilities:

  • Proactively collaborate with internal teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Marketing, Demand Planning and Operational teams as a cross-functional resource for inventory management
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to collect inventory data, identify and analyze trends and promote opportunities for improved inventory management
  • Play a key role in the coordination and execution of the In-House inventory cycle count program
    • Schedule and prepare reports for counts, reconcile counts with teams, review proposed adjustments with managers & obtain approval, posts & check adjustments, summarize results for managers, update progress in count dashboard
    • Report Inventory adjustments, write off and write ups from all departments
  • Month-end Inventory summary reporting
    • Generate executive summary for month end closing – monthly summary of inventory adjustments, cycle counts and In-house inventory counts
    • Trend analysis of inventory movements and accuracy
    • Generate financial reporting that complies with financial and SOX requirements
  • Excess & Obsolete inventory management
    • Lead the E&O process in relation to free stock (in house) and Short term consignment inventories; supported by Purchasing, warehousing and Surgical Sales Support teams
      • Inventory destruction execution
      • Provide E&O trend reporting and recommend proactive actions
      • Understand the financial impact and accounting process of Stryker E&O process
  • Provide guidance on inventory control process to Warehouse and Surgical Sales team who contribute to in-house inventories
  • Provide support for Field Consignment count
  • Work closely with the Senior Field Inventory Specialist to develop initiatives to increase total inventory optimization, accuracy, traceability and control
  • Inventory Control Monitoring (In-Transit, returns, outstanding transactions) & follow-up with teams/managers, analyze and provide monthly RTS (returns) reconciliation
  • Ad-hoc requests
    • Write-offs:  initiate disposal request forms, obtain approvals
    • Coordinate returns to stock from straight sale
    • Provide other ad-hoc reports
  • Drive discipline and process development/improvement that is consistent throughout operational departments
  • Develop and publish work instructions for key business processes as required
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Highly analytical and able to communicate story behind the data
  • Outstanding Excel and data mining skills.  Experience with ACCESS, SQL, Oracle will be an asset

  • Ability to work independently and show initiative
  • High level of professionalism with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Education & Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or Supply Chain
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • APICS (CPIM) or other Supply Chain designation an asset
  • CGA or CMA designation an asset
  • Internal applicants with an equivalent combination of education, experience and performance over time at Stryker will be considered
