Job Description

This internship provides an aspiring communication professional with the opportunity to learn more about the role and impact of marketing communications in healthcare. The position is part of the European Marketing team of the Head & Neck division at Stryker. You will report into the Lead Marketing Communications Specialist for Europe. You will be based in in the Amsterdam office. The internship will last for six months and start date is flexible between January and February.

What you will do

  • Your main task will be to support the European Marketing Team and assist in a wide variety of communication initiatives. With input into meaningful projects, you will contribute to continued growth across all parts of the Head & Neck portfolio. 
  • Assisting in the implementation and execution of Head & Neck’s communication strategy, including advertising, direct marketing and sales force communication efforts to drive our business
  • Liaising with internal and external entities to develop marketing collateral to be used in customer-facing interactions
  • Ensuring brand consistent division and product messaging and accessibility to communication efforts for product launches to deliver results
  • Assisting in implementation and execution of events and sales meetings to engage our external customers and internal team

Key activities include 

  • Content creation for a monthly divisional internal newsletter
  • Setting up and managing image/asset library
  • Copywriting of articles and website texts 
  • Content management of sales enablement platform
  • Supporting the creation of required marketing material and uploading to relevant platforms
  • Undertaking other duties to support the company’s goals and marketing/sales objectives and initiatives
  • Creating and conducting internal customer perception and importance surveys to understand European marketing communication needs
  • Researching the communication landscape across Europe for new ideas and approaches

What you will need

  • Currently studying a Bachelor’s or Master‘s degree in a relevant field (such as marketing, communications or similar)
  • Previous work experience of at least 3 months in a corporate environment strongly preferred
  • Ideally looking for a career in marketing and/or healthcare
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English  
  • Strong attention to detail, proven organizational skills, particularly time management and prioritization
  • Absolute team player, eager to learn, accountable
  • An ability to work with and understand web-based platforms 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro, knowledge of Marketo is a plus
  • Ability to work with cross-functional partners developing positive working relationships
  • Performance driven and results orientated

with your application for this internship, you confirm:

  • to have a valid work permit for the Netherlands for the full duration of your internship
  • you are registered to a Dutch university and activly studing while doing the internship at Stryker
  • you are open to international candidate but if you are currently aboard you are willing to relocate to Amsterdam on your own support and cost
  • Stryker pays a 400 EUR gross internship allowence montly based on Dutch student/ internship labor conditions, all commute cost will be covered by Stryker
