Key Activities & Accountabilities:

The Accounts Payable Coordinator (Intercompany) performs operational and supervisory activities to support the needs of the business. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

Intercompany Accounts Payable Accounting

  • Provides leadership to the Intercompany team of 4 FTEs
  • Executes and supports Intercompany Accounts Payable tasks in Oracle ERP, SAP and other systems if required
  • Ensures Intercompany request responsiveness, respecting SLA time frames and partnering with the business to drive process efficiencies and standardization
  • Creation and supervision of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Supports internal and external audit requests, performing remediations if necessary
  • Coordinates monthly reporting on the process, providing intelligence for monthly KPI reporting
  • Liaises and partners with stakeholders ensuring deliverables are met
  • Gains a thorough understanding of the SOX Act and Stryker’s internal control policies and performs documentation and reconciliation requirements in line with those policies
  • Participates in Ad Hoc projects

People Management

  • Supervises staff to ensure that financial reporting deadlines are met, providing advice regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Ensures that roles and responsibilities are clearly communicated and documented
  • Works with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor/advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
  • Analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources
  • Ensures that relevant information is communicated to direct reports enabling them to effectively carry out their functions
  • Delegates tasks to direct reports in line with skill, knowledge and ability – and, where necessary, identify skill gaps and training requirements
  • Provides training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Handles personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance, etc.

What we are looking for:

Education

  • A bachelor or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Fluent spoken and written English

Experience

  • Experience in an Accounting Coordinator, Manager or equivalent position as well as in acting as a backup to the team leader
  • At least 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable, Accountancy or Intercompany position
  • Experience within a multinational environment or in a Shared Service Center is preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Oracle and/or SAP) and with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
