Position summary:

Provides leadership and direction to a team of inside sales representatives, associate sales representatives and strategic account managers in a defined geographic area and supports the sales process to ensure achievement of regional sales monthly, quarterly, and annual quota. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, selection of talent, personal and professional development of team, performance management, development and implementation of regional business plan.

Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)

  • Provides leadership and direction of the regional sales team by providing support during the sales process as needed by team members.
  • Develops and implements regional business plans to consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual quota.
  • Responsible for keeping the Area Sales Directors and Sr. Director of Sales informed of all sales related activity, market trends, highlights and competitor activity within the region.
  • Actively seeks to recruit and select talent through the consistent use of candidate screening and interviewing. Proactively collaborates with human resources and sales recruiting teams.
  • Pursues new business opportunities, new markets and acquisitions.
  • Accountable for running a profitable business by ensuring pricing integrity of all products as well as driving accuracy in order entry and shipment schedules.
  • Accountable for the effective management of product hardware.
  • Accountable for all record-keeping in accordance with Stryker requirements.
  • Utilizes proper software and technological tools to maintain proper records.
  • Contributes to leading in product innovation by listening and working with others and contributing new ideas.
  • Focuses on customer satisfaction by demonstrating teamwork and empowerment, solving problems through a consultative approach, operating with honesty and integrity and providing a highly responsive and exceptional level of customer service.

Education & special trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience required
  • MBA preferred

Qualifications & experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical devices, disposables and/or capital equipment preferred.
  • Inside sales or inside sales management experience preferred.
  • Good driving record. Must possess valid driver license.
  • Prior experience using or other CRM system.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines.
  • Must possess excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Must be PC literate.  Experience working with Microsoft Office.
  • Extensive travel required including evenings and weekends.
  • Work hours may vary depending upon the needs of the customers.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills specifically relating to stress management, people management, project management, and conflict management.

Physical & mental requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Coordination of eye, hand and foot movement with an ability to grasp by hand and meet cognitive demands to include visual and auditory discrimination / memory, reading ability and memory retention ability.
  • May involve prolonged periods of stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and/or crawling as appropriate.
  • Exercise discretion and independence when applying professional expertise.
  • Must be able to manage time, projects, stress and conflict.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.
  • Must be able to bring tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize work and keep detailed and confidential records.
  • Must be able to communicate / present to large groups of people.
  • Must possess unwavering ethics & integrity in a competitive and demanding work environment

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 20%
