Job Description

MVP is an innovative program partnering with select, thought-leading institutions to drive partnership to a new level by delivering increased quality and decreased cost through unique customized content. The MVP Manager will be the face of this program.

High energy, passion, and a drive to exceed customer expectations will generate success in this position. This role will be responsible for communicating, implementing, and continuing to create the vision of this program; working with leadership level customers and cross-pollinating best practices across major hospitals and networks.

The MVP Manager will participate on a fast-paced team focused on getting the details right and fostering deep relationships with our MVPs across multiple departments in their organizations.


  • Will work with Stryker field personnel to vet customers for MVP
  • Will work with key internal cross-divisional stakeholders to strategically engage and target new MVP customers
  • Will manage and execute Health System Site Visits at Stryker
  • Will present MVP program content to customers at Stryker Site Visits
  • Will support pricing, contracting and sales discussions for assigned MVP accounts as they relate to the divisions of Stryker specifically MedSurg divisions, and potentially Orthopeadics
  • Collaborate with internal and external departments including Legal, National Accounts, Strategic Contracting, ProCare, Med Ed, and Stryker Finance to implement the MVP Agreement and enhance the customer experience
  • For each MVP customer, maintain and grow their knowledge of the MVP program, capital equipment, disposable products, and ProCare service agreements for each
  • Will present and facilitate the discussion of all MVP content during onsite implementation at MVP Hospitals
  • Lead MVP Business Reviews and manage all customer-facing Value documents
  • Monitor MVP results to make appropriate suggestions to target new business and grow market share
  • Will assist in tracking the value, success for both partners, and best practices of the MVP Program
  • Take on assigned and on-demand MVP tasks focused on the supply chain offices and the OR suite
  • Execute and resolve operational tasks such as MVP contract price changes, orders and shipping changes
  • Complete all actions items and follow up tasks for MVP customers in a timely, professional, and expectation exceeding manner
  • Maintain routine communication with local sales forces and MVP accounts to both gather and share information as part of the MVP program to develop a transparent account strategy
  • Re-enforce established relationships with all pertinent clinical and supply chain personnel
  • Monitor all product conversion opportunities, apply analytics and report at MVP Business Reviews

  • Must be able to generate and explain detailed business analytics and spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to work independently without tactical direction and create value in new areas.
  • Must be able to identify process improvement opportunities in hospitals and surgery centers (after receiving content training).
  • Must have high energy and stamina to go above customer expectations
Qualifications/Work Experience
  • Having an understanding of Medical Device markets, including disposable and capital products is preferred
  • Must possess excellent communication and inter-personal skills, and be able to explain a complex idea in digestible terms
  • Must have excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment to prioritize effectively
  • Must be able to work with clinical and business personnel, both internal and external to Stryker, and be able to influence change without authority
  • Must be able to analyze and resolve issues using independent judgment
  • Must be able to review printed material and draw salient conclusions
  • Must be able to generate and explain detailed forecasts, guidelines, and procedures and execute on strategy
  • Required proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proven record of success in a role requiring high attention to detail
  • Includes 30%+ travel
Education/Special Training Required
  • Education: B.B.A. or B.S. in Business, Marketing or related field
  • Experience: 5 + years in project management, process improvement, marketing, sales, or related position
  • Industry experience, ideally, would include experience within a hospital and/or medical device manufacturer environment. Additionally, experience with GPOs, Consulting or “Solutions” organizations would be beneficial to advancing supply chain and clinical relationship
