Job Description

As the High Risk Payment Coordinator, your role is to lead a team responsible to perform advanced-level review of payment requests to vendors classified as high risk.

Your mission is to deliver an effective system of internal processes and controls and to ensure your team can achieve accurate and timely processing of high risk payment requests in compliance with Stryker policies and any applicable laws and regulations. In this role you also work with other business functions including but not limited to Local Compliance and Local Finance as needed.

You report to the AP manager Commercial Europe and be part of the European Financial Shared Service Center.

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for staff resource planning, organizing, and monitoring of key processes, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff, and taking effective actions to address performance matters
  • HR Responsibilities of approximately 4 direct reports
  • Supports processes related to the identification and evaluation of the organization’s risk areas and provides significant input to the development annual business plans
  • Ensures critical business processes are well documented and communicated to facilitate effective and efficient execution
  • Develops and maintains productive team-oriented client, staff, and management relationships through individual contacts and group meetings
  • Pursues professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers.
  • Represents the function on organizational project teams, at management and board meetings, and with external organizations
  • Performs related work as assigned by management

Education and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Finance / Accounting
  • Fluent in English. (Fluency in additional European languages is a plus)
  • 5+ years relevant (Accounting, Finance, Accounts Payable, Shared Service, Compliance) working experience in a public multinational company (preferably US based).
  • 2+ years experience in leading teams
  • Familiar with USGAAP, Sarbanes Oxley Act
  • Familiar with transparency practices in Healthcare or related industries, suggested by institutions and regulations such as MedTech Europe and Sunshine Act in the US.
  • Should have the ability to see the ‘big picture’ and yet able to resolve day to day issues if required
