Stryker has an exciting opportunity on our Government Accounts team working with federal, state, and local government accounts. This team works primarily with Veteran Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense medical facilities worldwide. This opportunity is responsible for downstream contracting solutions for government customers, regular proposal pipeline reviews with field sales teams, discussing tactics on proposal follow-ups, and identifying federal customers in the Stryker representatives’ regions.  This position requires someone with at least baseline knowledge of the government contracting process and the medical device industry.

  • Responsible for developing and executing a division business plan that increases sales growth, leverages the current contract portfolio and finds contract solutions for federal Government customers.
  • Previous experience interacting with sales professionals on a regular basis.
  • Capable of preparing proposals in a manner that builds relationships with purchasing specialists and contracting officers.
  • Capable of navigating proposals from Stryker Sales representatives through the procurement process to contract award – maximize and shorten pipeline close rate.
  • Must be able to analyze and resolve complex and administrative issues of broad scope using independent judgment.
  • Must be able to prioritize work and keep accurate, detailed and confidential records.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Two or more years of sales and/or marketing experience
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to excel in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous Military officer and/or contracting specialist experience is a plus.
  • Must be service-oriented, quality focused and able to partner across the organization

Preferred Role Qualifications:

  • Sales and/or government procurement experience in medical device industry
  • Previous experience with Veterans Administration and/or Department of Defense
  • Familiarity of government procurement processes of VA and/or DoD
  • Knowledge of contract types including: VA/GSA FSS contracts including IDIQ, Time and Materials, under both competitive and sole-source circumstances
