Job Description

The Financial Analyst, Unclaimed Property will be responsible for Stryker’s compliance with domestic unclaimed property laws through timely review and recommended remediation of stale dated accounts receivable credit balances, as well as,  remediation of outstanding Accounts Payable checks.  This position will provide training and guidance as well as serve as expert on research and analysis.This will include interaction with division finance staff and various KFSS Coordinators to ensure items are acted upon to ensure efficient comprehensive compliance with unclaimed property laws.

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for sound financial decisions regarding potential refunds and reissues of property that appears to be unclaimed.
  • Collaborates with internal partners to resolve complex transactions that cross department, business unit or corporate boundaries.
  • Provide assistance with multi-state, multi-year audits for unclaimed property.  Interact with audit staff representing Stryker through third-party contracts.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with state/US Territory unclaimed property laws.
  • Serve as KFSS’s expert resource to clear potential unclaimed property items for multiple business units on multiple ERP’s.
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, division finance staff and various KFSS Coordinators regarding outstanding checks and accounts receivable items, as appropriate.
  • Ensure timely clearing and resolution of potential unclaimed property items.
  • Respond to unclaimed property inquiries from customers, suppliers, divisions and various KFSS Coordinators as received.
  • Assist in evaluating unclaimed property processes and recommend improvements to Stryker unclaimed property policy to the Sr. Manager, Unclaimed Property.
  • Responsible for other duties and special projects as assigned by the Manager, Unclaimed Property

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3 years of professional work experience is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork, time management, follow-through, and issue resolution abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to guide team members.  Development of training materials and SOP’s.
