Job Description


The Financial Analyst supports the Finance Manager Benelux in providing Commercial Business acumen to support the sales across Benelux as well as working closely across the region with Nordics Finance team as Benelux and Nordics are one reporting entity: Benenord. The main objective is preparation and analysis for actual reporting, budgeting and business planning and reviewing business activity as necessary for the business.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

The Financial Analyst performs advanced-level analytical responsibilities as required to support and provide guidance to the business.

Process

  • Review P&L and Balance Sheet information and identify errors or exceptions for Benelux
  • Check and adjust accruals, prepare Journals and collaborate with the SSC in doing so for Benelux
  • Sales and margin analysis and follow up for Benelux
  • Prepare Flash commentary together with Nordics for total Benenord region
  • Prepare Cash Flow comments at month close together with Nordics for total Benenord region
  • Review account reconciliations on a quarterly base for Benelux

Financial Close, Projection and Budgeting Cycle
  • Interface with FP&A and Divisional Finance Leads regarding Actuals, Budgets, Forecasts and other financial reporting matters, where needed align with local business for input
  • Assist in the planning process including preparing forecast models and preparation of commentary.
  • Provide analysis and insights to establish accurate forecast, budgets and strat plan.
  • Help ensure the accuracy and completeness of the figures
  • Ensure we hit all Corporate/divisional deadlines
  • Play an active role in improving processes

Reporting & Analysis
  • Provide analytical support to Commercial Business Benelux to gain a better understanding of market trends, customer trends, and sales channel performance
  • Provide analysis and insights into variances between actual and expected financial results\\
  • ROI calculation and follow up (based on defined focus area)
  • Proactively communicate changes in business trends, local business decisions or other issues that may have a financial impact.
  • Pro-actively set-up trend analysis, KPIs and dashboards to provide to Commercial Business Benelux as well as develop additional reports as required.
  • Respond to ad-hoc questions and requests for analysis by European FP&A and Divisional Finance leads

Internal Control
  • Assist the Finance Manager and the Commercial Business in establishing and implementing an effective system of internal controls and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, Stryker policies and procedures and any applicable laws and regulations

Other
  • Support with implementation of local country related projects (amongst others Cost Transformation for Growth program)
  • Cooperation with local AR teams to improve reporting and identify credit risks across Benenord
  • Align and strengthen reporting and financial processes across Benenord/UK region
  • Assist with statutory requirements and tax related items for Benelux
  • Help with response on division related queries and analysis from business

Job Requirements

  • Master Degree in Business and Administration,
  • Professional certification in controlling (RC/CIMA/CFA) or studying
  • 4+ years of relevant working experience as a (Senior) Analyst preferably within in a matrix sales organization (US / Multinational company)
  • Familiar with US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley
  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
  • Familiar with Oracle and Hyperion, Danube and Encompass
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong and effectively communicator towards stakeholders
  • Has experience to resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
  • Able to understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects that will significantly impact the business
  • Demonstrated ability to work across levels within the organization
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
