Job Description

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Responsible for running production on hand welding, robot level 2, set up CNC operator in addition to the responsibilities under Fabricator 2.
  • Conducts inspections in accordance with relevant gage plans with a working knowledge of how to operate calipers and angle gages. 
  • Able to troubleshoot problems that arise with work center and parts. 
  • Cleans parts as required.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance of machine center and compliance with the 6-S schedule.  Perform minor repairs on fabrication cell equipment.
  • Assures compliance with QSR/ISO procedures/policies, customer service goals, and quality standards, while meeting production goals. 
  • Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications.
  • Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria.
  • Adhering to all Stryker Quality Systems.

Education & special trainings:

High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications & experience:

  • Ability to operate basic fabrication equipment required.
  • Must have passed and will maintain the Level 2 Operator Qualifications.
  • Ability to operate equipment specified above in addition to the Fabricator 1 and 2 level equipment.
  • Quality training, including visual inspection of welds (if operating a robot welder), incoming part quality, gage plan completion, and proper part loading.
  • Ability to use height stand, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring system, and other inspection equipment to inspect work pieces.
  • Must have skills in team concepts and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Basic skills - Ability to read and follow blueprints, basic reading, metrology and math skills, and ability to adhere to safety-related issues to include, but not limited to, good housekeeping and ergonomics practices.
  • Set-up skills to include following prints and product specifications needed.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, particularly with machine operation, preferred.

Physical & mental requirements:

  • Requires ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs. on a frequent basis depending on product line, may rarely lift/carry 50-75 lbs.
  • Job demands include prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing and/or crawling as appropriate.
  • May be required to reach, push or pull in order to accomplish job accountabilities.
  • Requires hand grasp ability.
  • Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.
  • Meets cognitive demands to include visual discrimination/memory, auditory discrimination/memory reading ability, independent decision making and retention of specific knowledge.
  • May be exposed to loud noises.
  • Requires the operation of machinery as appropriate for performance of job.
  • Requires use of safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes and other necessary PPE in designated areas.
