Job Summary:

As an extrusion technician for Stryker, you will be in charge of the production of the plastic tubing which is used in many of Stryker’s life-saving products. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued improvement of our current products, as well as the development of new products to help victims of stroke have quicker, more complete recoveries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Our extrusion technicians take responsibility for running their extrusion line to produce quality products efficiently. This includes equipment set-up, tooling inspections, product inspections, and process monitoring. They apply their training and experience to troubleshooting production processes. They work hand-in-hand with engineers and other technicians to meet design requirements of new product developments. The Technician III is expected to be an expert in the operation and troubleshooting of the production equipment. Additionally, he/she will be called upon to train and mentor less experienced technicians, as well as fill a leadership role on the production floor.

Due to the sensitivity of our products, we maintain tight tolerances. This requires dedicated team members who are able to think critically and find solutions to the challenges that arise due to those tolerances. Our team members put quality first in their work, always keeping in mind our goal of helping make patient’s lives better.

Candidates must be able to perform the following:

  • Understand and meet requirements of our quality system, including cGMP
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Work independent of routine supervision
  • Ability to conduct basic arithmetic calculations
  • Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to train and mentor others
  • Ability to lift up to 50# routinely; 75# occasionally


  • 2+ years manufacturing/operations or related experience
  • Prefer prior medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate problems or issues verbally and written in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English.
  • Ability to carry out verbal instructions in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately work with measuring devices.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (ability to navigate email, calendar, online database systems and online training).
  • Demonstrated ability to follow processes and has an advanced understanding of the technical job duties.
  • Ability to conduct basic arithmetic calculations: add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to perform simple calculations using a calculator.
  • High manual dexterity to use tools such as, microscope, heat gun, tweezers etc.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
