Job Description

The Job's Mission

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales across their territory and hitting all financial targets. They will be responsible for developing relationships with users of the Stryker Endoscopy Visualisation portfolio and are required to manage existing business and account manage established customers, whilst seeking out new business opportunities within the territory.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work in the Stryker Endoscopy division, bringing our market leading Laparoscopic Cameras to the market in Scotland. You need to demonstrate a proven track record in sales along with the kind of drive and competitive attitude that Stryker values. Our portfolio of cameras is being constantly developed and recent acquisitions of innovative products make it a great time to work in this arena. A solid understanding of Laparoscopic and General Surgery specialities is advantageous but not essential.

Key Activities & Accountabilities
Customer service / acquisition of new customers
Territory Planning, executing and monitoring of all measures necessary to guarantee achieving budget.

This encompasses in particular:
  • Customer selection, targeted sales approach
  • Plan and execute on a quarterly and annual business plan, this will be showing management of existing revenue streams and customers, and driving acquisition across the territory generating growth.
  • Control all resources and materials in his/her territory (demo kit)
  • Customer care for physicians, surgical/theatre staff and hospital administration
  • Ensuring products are sold and revenue gains are established within the limits of internal guidelines,
  • Achieving the sales and margin targets for the territory
  • Managing contracts and pricing agreements in the territory, working with Regional Manager and Product Manager to ensure this is within the desired company bands.
  • Representing Stryker to all levels of HCP, commissioners and managers in their territory

Job Requirements


Preferably training in a medical, scientific, technical career or degree in sciences, economics or the like


  • Successful sales experience within the NHS or in other industries
  • Proven ability to deliver sales results over time
  • Proven relationship builder
  • Experience of customer acquisition
  • Ability to seek new business
  • Computer skills, MS Office
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • Presentation skills with modern presentation media
  • A proven track record within Stryker (internal candidates)

  • Surgical sales experience
  • Knowledge/experience of capital sales pathway in NHS or other industries
  • Knowledge/experience of selling through Scottish National Frameworks
  • Knowledge/experience of commercial sales - preferably Surgical sales or NHS lead.
  • Product knowledge - General surgery specialties
  • Knowledge of a CRM system
