Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fire Safety

  • Coordinate/Execute Emergency Exit light inspection (monthly)
  • Coordinate/Execute Emergency lighting inspection (monthly)
  • Coordinate/Execute Fire extinguisher inspection (monthly/annually)
  • Coordinate/Execute Fire sprinkler testing (quarterly/annually)
  • Coordinate Fire Safety Inspection with Local Fire Department (annual)
  • Develop, plan and execute annual Fire Drills and Emergency Evacuation Process

Personnel Safety

  • Develop, Coordinate and Execute internal Safety/PPE Assessments (monthly)
  • Coordinate/Execute New employing orientation (monthly)
  • Coordinate/Execute Fork Truck/scissor/boom training (annual)
  • Coordinate/Execute AED inspection (monthly)
  • Coordinate/Execute Spill Kits Inspections and replenishment
  • Coordinate/Execute First Aid kit inspection/replenishment
  • Coordinate/Execute Eyewash Station inspection and maintenance, if required
  • General safety enforcement (PPE, on the spot correction, etc.)
  • Identify, plan and execute Annual Safety training curriculum (annual)
  • Air monitoring (annually/or when processes change)
  • Noise monitoring (annually/or when processes change)
  • Safety Committee member (monthly)
  • Develop, Lead and Train campus ERT Team (Quarterly)
  • Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses (annual)
  • Investigate, assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for all Safety Incidents
  • Track and Trend Reportable, Non-Reportable and Near Miss Safety Incident Data
  • Assist in the develop of Safety Data trending Action Plans
  • Partner with HR team for workers compensation and light duty coordination

Hazardous Material/Waste/Recycling

  • Assist in the Development, Maintenance and Oversight for local HAZMAT program
  • Oversee Bio-Hazardous Waste recycling to ensure compliance
  • Oversee Battery waste recycling to ensure compliance
  • Coordinate/Execute Hazardous waste disposal, to include Industrial liquid waste
  • Coordinate/Execute Lamp recycling
  • Hazardous waste reduction program

Technical

  • Implement safety improvements on production lines
  • Support process and cost improvement projects
  • Perform other duties as directed or assigned by Manager

Qualifications (Education, Certifications and/or Experience)

  • 0-2 years of safety program related experience
  • Bachelor  degree in engineering, preferred (engineering or related field)
  • OSHA 10-Hour Course
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to interpret policies and procedures accurately.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an inventory control system and keep accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others. 
  • Ability to demonstrate qualities of confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion.

Work Environment

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, etc.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for one or more hours at a time.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to move around buildings.
  • Must be able to review printed materials.
  • Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office.

Travel Percentage: 20%
