Job Description

"Oversee and develop the strategic and operational business development plans for specific SPS offerings with a primary emphasis on revenue and profitability generation, scalability, strategic client management, C-suite penetration and impact, and ability to close high impact strategic consulting projects.  Lead the service line team by overseeing the design and direct execution of the plan to successfully complete the agreements with the clients.  Act as a primary C-suite point of contact and coordinate across Stryker to ensure the products and services we deliver meet the strategic objectives of the hospital.  

• Directly manage the project management team including objective setting, performance management, development, recognition, etc.


• Develop presentation materials for a range of internal and client stakeholders on multiple projects at once


• Develop and manage project economics – budget to actual, project finances, project forecasting and reporting


• Lead the development of the strategic and operational plans to drive greater growth and financial performance period-over period at each account.  


• Oversee the management of the account opportunities


• Establish, manage and maintain, executive-level client relationships and position oneself as a trusted advisor to the client’s business.


• Develop and drive the account strategy for Performance Solutions 


• Engage other account-team members as needed for total Stryker success.


• Partner with Client Executive team in the transition from Sales to the Service Line team through implementation resources while maintaining accountability for the client’s success – ensure implementation teams are enabled to succeed.


• Oversee Service Line relationships throughout the implementation phase: manage expectations and address implementation issues.


• Assemble and report revenue and profitability performance for the account.


• Provide voice of the customer and influence the creation and implementation of solutions to include:


• Define the value required in solution deliverables to make them impactful to client executives; Partner with other SPS teams to ensure the infrastructure build out of the appropriate sales tools.


• Provide learning from current and past client projects to improve deliverables and methodologies


• Identify opportunities to continuously improve the efficiency with which solutions are executed and implemented


• Enhance Stryker’s competitive positioning by gaining intense knowledge of the competitive landscape and trends while actively promoting and implementing SPS offerings.


• Develop high quality, world class, points of view and intellectual capital on “hot topics” relevant to the healthcare industry and of importance to C-suite executives; participate in public speaking events when appropriate
,Bachelor’s Degree Secondary degree preferred

  • 15+ years of demonstrated success in healthcare service/ sales/business development roles with 7+ years of consultative/solution-based service development, implementation, and/or selling in the healthcare environment

  • 10+ years account management experience, managing relationships with senior client executives through the implementation phases of major change programs, preferably in a healthcare environment

  • Demonstrated ability leading service teams and developing programs for service improvements

  • Demonstrated experience developing executive client relationships and navigating complex political environments

  • Demonstrated experience uncovering, managing and resolving obstacles that get in the way of execution of strategy and initiatives

  • Working knowledge of healthcare reform with a preference in Orthopaedics

  • Ability to conceptualize and solve business problems quickly in wide range of business models and industries



  • Demonstrated executive presence and ability to command respect with executives both internally and with client organizations

  • Demonstrated ability to engage operational leaders within a client environment to discuss opportunities for technology to drive business improvement

  • Demonstrated ability to think beyond the current product/software/service solution set; able to create and build.

  • Demonstrated communications skills (presentation, written and verbal)

  • Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop talent and grow/retain desired talent for the organization
